Hettes steps in for Garcia against “Bruce Leroy”

An injury has forced UFC featherweight Leonard Garcia out of his “UFC on Versus 5” bout against Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres, and Jim Hettes has stepped in for the injured WEC veteran.

The promotion announced the change earlier today.

An undefeated prospect, Hettes has won all of his eight professional contests by way of submission. He last fought just over two weeks ago, earning the MASS featherweight title with a triangle choke in the second round of the championship bout. His upcoming fight will be his first in the UFC.

Meanwhile, Caceres, who is better known as “Bruce Leroy” after his stint on “The Ultimate Fighter,” debuted with the promotion against Mackens Semerzier at “UFC Fight Night 24.” He lost to the WEC veteran via submission.

“UFC on Versus 5” is set for Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Bradley Center on August 14 and will feature a welterweight tilt between Chris Lytle and Dan Hardy. The event will broadcast live on Versus, while Caceres vs. Hettes will stream live on Facebook.
