Koscheck Says He’s Returning at UFC 139

Nasty eye injury at UFC 124
Plans to fight at middleweight in return bout

As expected, Josh Koscheck will return to the UFC at UFC 139.

The event takes place Nov. 19 in San Jose, just a short drive from Koscheck’s training camp at American Kickboxing Academy.

Koscheck revealed the news via Twitter on Sunday. He also confirmed previous reports that his return bout will likely come at middleweight, though the former Ultimate Fighter star says he has no plans to make it a permanent move. Koscheck’s stint on the first season of the reality show was at middleweight, but he dropped to welterweight immediately after the show concluded and has remained there ever since.

Koscheck has been out of action since last December, when he suffered a broken orbital bone at the hands of Georges St-Pierre in the headlining bout of UFC 124.

UFC 139 is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight title clash between returning champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.
