UFC Prelims hit FX airwaves with six-fight broadcast
The UFC’s six-bout preliminary card for UFC 142 will air live on FX in the United States.
MMAFighting.com issued the report on Tuesday evening.
UFC 142 takes place Jan. 14 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is headlined by a UFC featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and challenger Chad Mendes. Brazilian favorite Vitor Belfort faces Anthony Johnson in the co-main event.
The preliminary card airing marks the move of the UFC’s preliminary card broadcasts from Spike TV to FX and Fuel. The UFC signed a new seven-year television deal with FOX earlier this fall which goes into effect on Jan. 1.
The bouts scheduled for the FX broadcast are:
– Sam Stout vs. Thiago TavaresM
– Mike Pyle vs. Paulo Thiago
– Fabio Maldonado vs. Stanislav Nedkov
– Rob Broughton vs. Ednaldo Oliveira
– Felipe Arantes vs. Antonio Carvalho
