Mendes vs. Morrison Official For WEC 48

The official WEC 48 card is now complete.

Chad Mendes (6-0 MMA, 1-0 WEC) has replaced the injured Mackens Semerzier (5-1 MMA, 1-1 WEC) and will meet Anthony Morrison (15-8 MMA, 0-1 WEC) on the preliminary-card.

WEC 48 takes place on April 24 at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, Calif. It is available on pay-per-view with the main event featuring featherweight champion Jose Aldo taking on long-time WEC kingpin Urijah Faber.

Mendes is a member of Faber’s Team Alpha Male gym and has been training with the former featherweight champion since he entered the sport in 2008. Mendes made his WEC debut at WEC 47 with an impressive unanimous decision win over Erik Koch.

This will Mendes’ second fight in less than two months.

Morrison made his organizational debut at WEC 46, losing to former featherweight champion Mike Brown by rear naked choke in Round 1.
