LISTEN: Britney Spears Drops New Single ‘Ooh La La’

Earlier today, Britney Spears, one of the biggest pop stars in the world, dropped a single, entitled “Ooh La La.”

The single doesn’t seem to be attached to a brand new Britney Spears album, unfortunately. It looks like the song is off of the soundtrack for “The Smurfs 2,” an upcoming film about, obviously, The Smurfs.

And, after you hear the song, you’ll notice its a very pop-py and clearly directed for children. Quite contrary to “Gimmie More,” for instance.

Is this a new direction for Britney Spears? Will she start producing more poppy and “saccharine-sweet” songs, as Celebuzz puts it? Only time can tell.

Here’s what Celebuzz said was the inspiration for the song:

When announcing the single in April, the former pop princess said it was her sons Sean, 7, and Jayden, 6, who inspired her lend her voice to the animated blockbuster. “Remember that surprise song I recorded for my boys? It’s coming soon!” she tweeted, revealing her vocals will be featured in the forthcoming flick that stars Katy Perry, Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria, Jayma Mays, and many more. “#OohLaLa for #TheSmurfs2 :)”
