The Oscar Nominations Are Here

The official nominations for 2011’s films are in. There are some surprise snubs: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross ignored for Best Soundtrack, while John Williams gets two nominations, David Fincher not listed for Best Director, Michael Fassbender ignored for Best Actor. Some films did as well as expected: congrats to The Artists, The Descendants, Moneyball and The Help for nominations in several categories. For the full list of nominations, including more of the technical categories, head here. Billy Crystal will host the 84th Academy Awards on ABC, broadcast live on Feb. 26 from the Kodak Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
