Weezer Planning Blue Album/Pinkerton Tour

Weezer Blue Album

Rivers Cuomo, lead singer of Weezer, has confirmed preliminary plans for a special two-nights-per-city tour, according to MTV. According to Cuomo, the band would play Weezer’s debut album, often referred to as The Blue Album, on the first night in its entirety, then come back the next night and perform the band’s second album, Pinkerton.

Cuomo has asked the band’s fans for help in getting this tour off the ground. “The fan response has been incredible so far for the idea. And, if they want to, they can contact their local promoter and tell them to make it happen.”

Many bands have found that performing albums in their entirety has helped sell tickets in a year where concert sales have fallen. Everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Styx have found that concertgoers are willing to spend a little more not to hear, “Here’s something off our new album…”
