Calling all hipsters! Brooklyn’s own Northside Music/Film/Art/Idea Festival 2011 has posted their initial lineup and schedule. Northside describes their borough-based, multi-venue festival this way:
“Taking place in the walkable radius of Williamsburg and Greenpoint, Northside is a four-day showcase of the work these people do behind the closed doors of rehearsal spaces, studios and makeshift home-offices, as well as glimpses from their contemporary creative communities around the world. Above all, it’s a celebration of these so-called dreamer types. Because they’re the reason you’re here, at the center of the universe.”
Names you might know this year: Atlas Sound, Beirut, Deertick, DOM, Grouplove, Guided By Voices, Surfer Blood, Twin Sister and Wavves. Then there’s all the bands you haven’t heard of that are just waiting for you to discover them. The festival takes place June 16th-19th.
