A prominent Boston pediatrician and ex-medical director of the elite Phillips Academy was busted Thursday for receiving child pornography at his former school office. Richard Keller, 56, had apparently received several DVDs to the same address in the past.

Soon after the discovery of the DVD by a colleague, a search at his Andover, Massachusetts, home led authorities to recover a private collection of more than 100 DVDs and 500 photographs of young boys in graphic sexual situations. Up until now, the alleged sicko doc had a clean criminal record with no convictions, malpractice — not even a speeding ticket.

But he had been forced out of his post at Phillips for accessing adult porn with his work computer, showing kids an inappropriate cartoon, and leaving an inappropriate voicemail. The school insists the transgressions that led to their decision not to renew his contract did not include anything related to the child porn allegations.

The prestigious Phillips Academy has fostered a roster of famous alumni. Facebook founder Chris Hughes, actress Olivia Wilde, and the 41st president, George W. Bush, are among the graduates.

The doc’s current employer, Boston’s Children’s Hospital, said the pediatrician was “immediately put on administrative leave.” If Keller is brought to charges, he could face five to 25 years in jail, a supervised release for the rest of his life and a mandatory $250,000 fine.

He is an endocrinologist who specializes in juvenile diabetes.
