Mila Kunis, wearing nothing but leather pants and a sexy look, is on the cover of Esquire Magazine’s Sexiest Woman Alive edition, taking the title away from last year’s hottest woman (and is there a sadder title than last year’s hottest woman?) Rihanna.
Kunis said she isn’t taking the honor too seriously, but that didn’t stop her from posing for a typical sexy photo shoot and telling some stories about her life and career. And what a career she has – she blends beauty, sexiness, humor and talent all together with one gorgeous look for her movies and TV shows, handling everything from the maudlin Black Swan ballerina role to the voice of Family Guy’s Meg Griffin with skill and talent.
While lately she’s been all over the tabloids as part of her blossoming romance with That 70s Show love interest Ashton Kutcher, there’s more to the star than just the guys she goes out with. She’s got four movies coming out next year, and she’s never been hotter personally or professionally.
A lot of people might dismiss Kutcher as not being the sharpest knife in the block, but not very many can argue that he’s one lucky dude.
1. She Lied to Get on That 70s Show
Mila told producers she would be 18 “soon” but she was only 14 years old. She rationalized it as being part of how the industry works, and knew she could play a convincing 18-year-old. Directors didn’t find out her real age until she signed her contract.
2. She Dated Maculay Culkin For Eight Years
The Home Alone star may be kind of a funny-looking dude now, but the lovely Mila found him to be kind, intelligent and interesting and stayed with him for years — showing that it’s not all about looks for her. They remain close friends.
3. She’s Funny and She Likes Funny Guys
Mila told Glamour Magazine a funny guy will get her quicker than a hot guy.
“Funny will get you far. Hot will get you two hours.”
But aside from that, she’s starred in some very funny movies over the past few years, including a starring turn as a cute hotel clerk in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and a not-so-understanding girlfriend and talking teddy bear foe in “Ted.”
4. She Can Play Serious Too
Who can forget her driving Natalie Portman to insanity in Black Swan, or everyone else a bit crazy too with that one scene?
It’s not a huge secret anymore that Mila voices Meg Griffin in Family Guy. And weirdly enough, her being Meg makes her even sexier, somehow. But you wouldn’t think she feels a special kinship:
“Meg gets picked on a lot. But it’s funny. It’s like the middle child. She is constantly in the state of being an awkward 14-year-old, when you’re kind of going through puberty and what-not. She’s just in perpetual mode of humiliation, and it’s fun.”
6. What You See is What You Get
Mila prides herself on staying true to her ideals, no matter how big a star she’s becoming. She tells Esquire:
“What I do and who I am are two different things. And they always will be. What happens with people is they lose sight of who they are, and they become either who they want to be or who they are perceived to be. But whatever it is, it is no longer who they are. I think that if I bought into the hype, I would lose all sight of who I am, and so much of who I am is what my parents went through and instilled in me. And I never want to lose that. Ever. Because I would be so disappointed if I didn’t make them proud.”
7. Her Fans, Male and Female, Love Her
It’s not usual that someone who looks like Mila has both male and female fans, but Mila does. It’s probably the humor for the girls, but it’s definitely the hotness for the guys.
8. She’s Got a Geeky Side, Too
Mila has a lot of geeky interests too, and she’s not ashamed to talk about them. As she told Esquire:
“I read The Huffington Post, The Drudge Report. I spend hours researching products. I’m a product whore. Like soaps and creams. And just crap. I love Yelp.” She also likes Colbert. Or maybe Man vs. Wild. “I love that he gets so excited about carcasses. He’ll be like, ‘Mmm, look at that sexy dead goat, look at those eyeballs.’ Then he digs into the goat’s eyeballs because they have protein. It makes me want to vomit. And of course I watch it.”
9. She Once Played a Younger Angelina Jolie
Well, not Angie, exactly, but she played a younger Gia in that HBO movie about the AIDS-stricken supermodel. And Mila said her parents were shocked when the racy movie came out. But to be fair, Angelina Jolie was a lot younger when that movie was made, too.
10. She’s Not as Short as You Think
Mila wins bets when people guess her height, because she looks even tinier than she really is. True, she’s not supermodel tall, but she’s 5 feet, 4 inches – not the teeny woman people think.
“My friends call me hobbit. I come across shorter than I am. People will say, ‘You’re not five foot four.’ And I’ll say, ‘People, I know my height.’ I’m constantly winning bets – hundreds of dollars”
