Petraeus & Broadwell Together at Dinner 2 Weeks Before He Quit

Martinis at OSS Award Ceremony

CIA Director David Petraeus and his biographer, Paula Broadwell were last seen together at an awards dinner honoring one of Petreaus’s predecessors before their sex scandal went public, sources tell NBC News. They were together at the event even after Broadwell had admitted to the FBI that she had an affair with the CIA director, and just two weeks before his resignation.

The event took place more than a month after Broadwell was interviewed by the FBI over the scandal.

“It’s mind-boggling that she could be so reckless as to show up at high-profile events like this, shortly after learning the FBI was investigating their affair,” a former senior U.S. intelligence official who attended the event said.

The annual award ceremony held by the OSS Society, a group that honors veterans of the Office of Strategic Services, is one of the intelligence community’s most high-profile events. Petraeus’s predecessor, CIA director and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, was the recipient of this years award.
