Christopher Chaney, the hacker who leaked naked photos of Mila Kunis and Scarlett Johansson, has been handed a massive TEN YEAR PRISON SENTENCE, TMZ reports.
Chaney, 35, from Jackonsville, Florida, pleaded guilty in March to nine charges of identity theft, wiretapping and unauthorized access and damage to a protected computer. His crime boils down to hacking into the email accounts of celebrities, such as Kunis and Johansson, as well as singer Christina Aguilera. In addition, Chaney will have to pay $76,000 to each of his victims.
If 10 years sounds like a lot to you, if Chaney had been found guilty of his original charge of hacking 50 email accounts, he could have faced 121 years in prison.
The Daily News reports that Chaney also targeted non-celebrities, one woman he worked with was hacked and personal photos of the woman naked were sent to her father.
U.S. District Judge S. James Otero had heard a pre-taped testimony from Scarlett Johansson, in the tape allegedly Johnasson broke down crying describing Chaney as “…calculated, cruel and creepy.”
Christina Aguilera said of the affair:
That feeling of security can never be given back and there is no compensation that can restore the feeling one has from such a large invasion of privacy.
Chaney was arrested in October 2011 as part of massive police investigation into celebrity hacking.
