Mel Greig and Michael Christian, the Australian DJs whose prank call to Kate Middleton‘s hospital preceded the suicide of nurse Jacintha Saldanha, have been moved to safehouses for protection.

SkyNews reports that the radio station where they worked, 2Day FM, has “also recruited 24-hour bodyguards to protect employees.”

The DJs drew the ire of the masses after the nurse who transferred their bogus call — pretending to be from the Queen and Prince Charles — hanged herself, leaving behind a husband and two children. The family has blamed the DJs.

Now the Sydney Morning Herald reports the DJs are receiving death threats:

A letter “which contained a number of threats” has been seized by Eastern Suburbs detectives, a police spokesman said.
