A 43-year-old paraplegic man was castrated during a brutal attack inside an assisted living facility for the physically disabled in Southwest Philadelphia.
According to WPVI, 41-year-old Edgar Bonilla — who was a visitor in the facility — was arrested for the attack, which took place around 7:15 p.m. on June 17.
According to Philly.com, Bonilla had a dispute with the victim over a female resident.
Police say that Bonilla stabbed the victim multiple times in the neck and abdomen and then proceeded to mutilate his groin. The victim remains in critical condition while Donilla is being charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and robbery for stealing the victims medication.
Court records show Bonilla has an arrest history on burglary charges that have been withdrawn and robbery charges that have been dismissed. In 2004 he pleaded guilty to defiant trespassing, resulting in a 12-month probation sentence.
