Obama may have recently announced that the U.S was going to give military aid to Syrian rebels, but the L.A Times reports that the CIA and U.S military operatives have been teaching Syrian rebels how to use anti-tank and anti-aircraft guns at bases in Jordan and Turkey. This cover U.S training operation which has been active since last year along with Obama’s decision this month to supply arms and ammunition to trusted rebels have raised hopes among Syria’s opposition who have been fighting against President al-Assad’s regime for nearly three years.

Those involved in the training are fighters from the Free Syrian Army who were selected by U.S special operations team last year when the U.S. military set up regional supply lines to provide rebels with aid such as uniforms, radios and medicine.
