Jason Lee is the Goldman Sachs investment banker who allegedly raped a woman at a pool party he was hosting at his East Hampton summer home. Here’s what you need to know.

1. Jason Lee Been Charged With First Degree Rape


Jason Lee, 37, was arrested and charged with first degree rape on Wednesday after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman during a party at his East Hampton home that he rents with his wife, reports the Daily Mail. Authorities say police responded to a disturbance at the house where several people had apparently gathered on Tuesday and were a 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted.


2. He’s a New York Investment Banker

Lee is the managing director for the Goldman Sachs group that handles the initial public offerings. He was put on leave from his position following his arrest.

3. It Happened During a Nude Pool Party


The alleged victim was at Lee’s summer house on Monday night for a pool party that police said involved nudity. She reported to police that she was sexually assaulted by Lee the next day.

4. He Denies the Allegations

According to The New York Times, Lee’s lawyer, Edward Burke, Jr., says his client adamantly denies the allegations and expects to clear his name. He pleaded not guilty.

5. He Was Released From Custody After Posting Bail

Lee was released after posting $20,000 cash bail at East Hampton Justice Court. He is due back in court on September 19.
