Truck Carrying ‘Dirty Bomb’ Materials Found Empty in Mexico

Cobalt-60 CO-60 Found Truck Empty Dirty Bomb

The truck that was carrying the highly radioactive Cobalt-60 was found empty by Mexican police at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, reports NBC. The truck was stolen in Tepojaco, Mexico on December 4. It was taken at a gas station prompting a widespread panic that resulted in US border patrols being issued radioactivity detectors.

Officials still do not know why the truck was stolen, or if the thieves definitely know what they have their hands on. The truck, a 2.5 tonne Volkswagen, was found a half-mile away from the site where it was stolen.
