The media is billed it as the Patriots v Broncos for a place at Super Bowl XLVII in New Jersey but we all knew the truth. This was Peyton v Brady for a place in immortality. The day belonged to Eli’s older brother as he yelled “Omaha” and overran the Patriots with his “touchdown factory” to beat New England 26-16, a scoreline that flattered Tom Brady.
Watch here with Heavy.com for all the updates, videos, photos, GIFs and images from a wonderful afternoon in Denver.
6:02pm And that will do it, Peyton will head to this brother’s stadium in New Jersey to attempt to bring Vince Lombardi back to Denver! It ended 26-16.
5:55pm With Vereen getting a stuffing at the goal line, it’s looking all over for the Patriots. We’re at 26-16 at the two minute warning.
Giselle thinking her husband should just run like that on every play.

5:43pm Another FG for the Broncos nearly cancels out Brady and Vereen’s combination touchdown. We’re now at 26-10 for the Broncos.
With the game in a lull, here are some cheerleaders:
5:24pm Matt Prater whacks home another FG to make it 23:3, surely Peyton is Super Bowl bound now.
So this about how it’s gone so far:
5:10pm Ouch! Brady just got creamed! He is down!
5:09pm Denver timeout with a 4th and 2 coming next. Vereen dropped Brady’s pass, incomplete was the call from the officials.
5:05pm Tenth play of the drive, and Ridley is driven out of bounds for the Patriots. Brady needs to do something big to turn this around.
4:58pm Patriots will have to drive out of here from their own 20.
4:56pm I think we can all agree that Tom Brady has done some amazing things during his NFL career, if he can pull the Patriots out of this one, it could be most amazing thing ever. It’s 20-3 Broncos.
4:54pm TOUCHDOWN! It’s another inevitable touchdown from the Broncos, Manning to Thomas and boom!
Back in the first half an official threw a flag down, we thought nothing off it, but that’s until we saw the style with which he threw it. Sign that man up.
4:46pm Second half reading very much like the first, Manning now on ten straight pass completions.
Apparently Belichick told a reporter at half time that his team “need more than three points.” Interesting. Brady remains frustrated:
Whereas Manning is all:
HALF-TIME 13-3 BRONCOS!
4:22pm FIELD GOAL! Broncos make it 13-3, in other words, a two score game. Prater again.

4:17pm Demaryius Thomas is causing havoc for the Pats defense. Excellent stutter step before receiving. Under a minute left till half-time.
4:14pm Andre Carter gets penalized for holding.
4:10pm Patriots finally get on the board with a superb field goal kick from Stephen Gostkwowski. 10-3 right now as we approach half-time, or as I call it “Fray-time.”
4:07pm Patriots at 3rd and 8th call a timeout. Still not much to gain for Brady and the boys.
4:03pm: Patriots get no gain.
According to The Guardian’s Paolo Bandini, Manning and Tamme carpooled to the game together.
4:00pm So the Broncos are rocking a 10-0 lead, meanwhile Twitter is alive today with expert analysis:

3:53pm Manning calling “Omaha” constantly. Broncos TD inevitable. Here’s Jamie Collins doing his thing:
3:52pm Patriots appear to be begging the Broncos to run the ball.
3:50pm First down from Ball on that play. Nicely done. Peyton doesn’t hesitate.
3:47pm Everything looking for Denver on this drive. Welker made something out of nothing after Kyle Arrington fluffed his lines with an easy interception.
3:44pmSo we’re off for the second quarter, a low-scoring start, I think everyone expected that.
3:36pm In his last three plays, Brady has looked for Vereen, Ridley and Edelman, in that order. All looking familiar now.
3:33pmBrady once again looking for Edleman but it gets blocked off.
3:31PMA long pass from Brady ties to hit Edelman, lovely fake, but he just couldn’t reach it.
During the last commercial break we were treated to this moment of brilliance:
Why did Arnie ever quit that cushy government job he had?
3:26pmFIELD GOAL is good! Broncos take a 3-0 lead.
3:24pmPeyton tried to hit Julius Thomas, didn’t make it, was it pass interference?
3:22pmJamie Collins puts in a serious hit on Peyton’s pass. Third and long coming up for the Broncos.
3:20pmSun definitely going to be a factor here. It’s beating down on the Mile High Stadium.
3:17pmPatriots starting again on their own 20. Matthew Slater had no chance on the catch.
3:15pm Manning fails to hit Decker on 3rd and 9, Broncos punting.
3:12pm Manning throws to Decker, gets seven yards, Broncos have 3rd and 9.
3:09pm Ryan Allen punts and the Broncos are back to their own 15.
3:06pmMatt Prater’s kickoff gets a touchback so Brady will get us started at the 20-yard-line.

We’re nearly ready to get started here. Of course it didn’t start at 3 p.m., the teams have taken the field. Now it’s time for the waiting game.
Leah Schafer has just performed the national anthem. The Fray will perform the half-time show.
According to Paddy Power, pre-match odds have the Broncos as marginal favorites with odds of 4/9. You can get Brady and the Patriots are at 4/9.
If you’re looking for a bet on the first touchdown, LaGarrette Blount is the favorite at 7/1, followed by Julian Edelman at 9/1 and Shane Vereen his the third favorite at 10/1.
Meanwhile, if you’re betting, Peyton’s brother has a message:
