A second suspect, 27-year-old Candace Marie Brito, has been arrested in the fatal beating of 23-year-old Kim Pham outside of a Santa Ana, California nightclub. The beating, which occurred outside The Crosby, on Saturday January 18, occurred when Pham was attack by a group while waiting online.
Here is what you need to know about the second suspect in this attack.
1. She is the Second Person Identified and Arrested
Last week the first suspect in the case, 25-year-old Vanesa Tapia Zavala was arrested and charged with murder in the beating of Kim Pham. Although the motive is not confirmed, friends say that Pham may have interfered with a photograph of a group in line with them. After a confrontation ensued, the group, believed to be 3 women and 2 men, attack Pham.
Pham was taken to a hospital where she was declared brain dead and kept on life support so that she could become an organ donor. After two dies, Pham was declared dead of complications from blunt-force trauma to the head.
2. She is Charged With Murder & Held on $1 Million Bail
The 27-year-old resident of Santa Ana is being charged with one count of felony murder. Similarly to Zavala, Brito is in prison with a $1 million bail making it very unlikely that they will see the outside of a prison as they await their trial.
At her arraignment today, Brito pleaded not guilty.

3. She is Described as Rule-Abiding
Before she identified, Brito’s defense attorney Michael Molfetta described his client as a woman who has never been in trouble with the law, according to the OC Register.
4. At Least 3 More Suspects Are Unidentified
Cell phone videos of the attack, like the one you can see above, are what led police to identify both Brito and Zavala. Police believe at least three more suspects seen in the videos are still on the loose.
Police are currently trying to identify at least one more woman and two man for their involvement in the beating. Identifying attackers has proven difficult because there are no security cameras in the vicinity that could have given authorities a good view of the attack.
5. There is a $10,000 Reward for Info on the Other Suspects
Local business owners and the community have come together to offer money in the form of a reward. The community is offering $10,000 for any information leading to the identification of any people who may have been involved in the attack.
