Ralph Lauren’s niece Jenny, 41, is currently in hot water after a drunken episode on a Delta flight. Read on for the facts on the “air rage” as well as more information on Jenny Lauren.
1. Jenny’s Drunken Behavior on a Flight Caused an Emergency Landing
Yesterday, Jenny Lauren boarded a flight out of JFK, heading for Barcelona, Spain. However, Page Six reports that her drunken behavior on the plane forced the pilot to make an emergency landing. Instead of Barcelona, the plane had to make a stop at Shannon Airport in Ireland. Page Six reports:
Lauren was accused of being so drunk that she posed a threat to passengers’ safety and refused to follow the flight crews’ orders to calm down.
2. She Is Pleading Guilty to Three Charges

The Irish Times reports that Jenny’s attorney Sharon Curley told the Killaloe District Court that Jenny Lauren will plead guilty to all charges. Before the judge can make a firm decision, though, there are many factors to take into consideration.
Judge Durcan told Ms Curley that before he would impose sentence in Ennis, the nature and extent of how people were discommoded, the cost to the airline and the cost to Shannon airport arising from the incident would have to be addressed.
The first of the charges that Jenny Lauren is facing, according to The Irish Times, is:
Ms Lauren is charged with engaging in behaviour of a threatening, abusive or insulting nature whether by word or gesture with intent to cause a breach of the peace or being reckless as to whether a breach of the peace might have been occasioned on January 6th on board the Delta Air Lines flight.
The second charge is:
Ms Lauren is also charged with being intoxicated to such an extent as would give rise to a reasonable apprehension that you might endanger yourself or other persons on board on the same date on the same flight.
Ms Lauren is also charged with without justification engaging in behaviour likely to cause serious offence or annoyance to any person on board the aircraft having been requested by a member of the aircraft to cease such behaviour on January 6th.
3. The Hearing Was Held in a Pub
No, I’m not joking. Apparently, Killaloe District Court was in session today in Brian Boru pub, which is in the adjoining town of Ballina. Fortunately, we’re not the only ones who found this makeshift courtroom a bit unsuitable for Jenny Lauren’s case.
Judge Patrick Durcan said that it would not be appropriate for the case to be dealt with at Killaloe and said that the case should be heard in Ennis on Wednesday.
Jenny has been released on a bail of $3,400, but was forced to surrender her passport. She must remain local until her next hearing tomorrow.

5. Jenny Lauren Has Released a Memoir
In 2004, Jenny Lauren published a memoir titled Homesick: A Memoir of Family, Food and Finding Hope. The work covers her life including her battle with an eating disorder throughout her teens and into her 20s.
