There were reports of shots fired at San Francisco General Hospital, reports KPIX 5. At 5 p.m. (ET) a hospital spokesperson declared that it was a false alarm and the facility is clear.

Here’s what you need to know:

2. The hospital has been locked down with police doing door-to-door searches.


3. The police activity is reportedly centered around the third and fourth floors of the hospital.


4. Some reports say that a suspect was seen fleeing from the hospital.


5. The hospital specializes in helping poor and uninsured people in the Bay Area.
