Here’s what you need to know about this latest chant:

1. The Songs Calls on Brazilians to Remember the 1950 World Cup Final

In the lyrics of the song, Argentina fans tease Brazil about its infamous defeat to Uruguay in the 1950 World Cup final, the last time the tournament was held in the samba nation. The translated lyrics in full read:

What’s wrong brazuca? Yet you still waiting …
What’s wrong brazuca? In the favela are all crying …
The years go by, you remember the World 50 …
They are all ‘shit’, you afraid to pass back …
Because Messi is wearing the crown, ohoh …
And the magic of his left hand that love, ohoh …
On top of Maradona acordás you …
I know it hurts, it hurts; but this Cup is Argentina …

The two teams met in the 1986 final as well, that time Diego Maradona led Argentina to a victory. More recently, it’s been Germany who held the upper hand, in 2006 and 2010, Argentina have been eliminated by the Germans. So it’s all up for grabs this Sunday in the Maracana.
