ISIS in America: Jihadists Tweet Threat From Inside United States

Unsettling pictures tweeted from a ISIS-affiliated Twitter account allege to show that ISIS Islamists are currently in the United States and planning an attack.

In the photo, an unidentified man stands in front of Chicago’s Old Republic building on Michigan Avenue, part of the city’s “Magnificent Mile” shopping district.

The note is handwritten in Arabic and translates to:

We are in your streets.

Soldiers of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria will pass from here soon.

According to, ISIS may have singled out Chicago because of James Foley. They report:

Slain journalist James Foley studied his craft in the Chicago area, earning a master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. For a time he was a teacher in the Cook County Jail boot camp program. He was familiar with the streets of Chicago.

Accompanying the photo of Chicago, the tweet also included a photo of the White House with an ISIS flag in front of it. ISIS has pledged to raise its flag, known as the Black Standard, over the White House.
