Kissimmee Mall Shooting: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Two have been killed in a mall shooting in Florida. WFTV reports that a shooting happened at the Osceola Square Mall in Kissimmee, Florida, a 6:15 p.m.

Here’s what we know so far:


1. People Were Shot at the Mall

The mall has been evacuated. Early reports suggest the shooting took place at a Ross Dress for Less store. Two people were shot near the store, both suffered non-life threatening injuries, reports My News 13.


2. The Dead Men Were Killed in a Car Crash

So far we know that two people have been killed. Phil Landeros, a producer with WOFL in Orlando, tweeted that two men were found dead after a car crash close to where the shooting took place. The car in that crash matched the description of a getaway car used in the Ross shooting.


3. The Men in the Car May Have Been Suspects in the Shooting

We don’t know if a suspect is in custody. My News 13 reports that the two men in the car haven’t been identified, nor have they been named as suspects in the shooting.


4. The Mall Is in Disrepair

The mall is located at 3831 West Vine Street in Kissimmee, 25 miles south of Orlando. The mall has poor reviews on Yelp due to a lack of stores.


5. The Mall’s Name Is Being Changed

In April 2014, the Orlando Sentinel reported that the mall’s name was to be changed to the “Plaza del Sol.”
