She’s the Crazy Jewish Mom everybody’s talking about since her daughter’s Instagram page based on their texts went viral.

The Today Show, Cosmopolitan, Buzzfeed and the Daily Mail have all featured the hilarious text conversations between mother and daughter, but the mom’s identity has remained under wraps.

Heavy can reveal that the Crazy Jewish Mom is a Hollywood director with a resume including of some of the most watched and iconic TV shows of the past four decades.

Friends in Los Angeles spotted tinseltown veteran Kim Friedman after daughter Kate Siegel posted a photo of her mom along with some of the messages she receives from her doting parent.

The texts include repeated attempts to set up her beautiful daughter — an associate producer at Conde Nast — with Ivy League-educated young men, even though Kate already has a boyfriend her mom nicknames “Superjew.”

“I started this project three months ago, because my friends always laughed at my mom’s texts,” Kate, 26, tells Yahoo Parenting. “I’m an only child so I get all my mom’s attention.”

Kate told the Today show she created the Instagram page to make people laugh. She has gained more than 280,000 followers since she started posting the texts last November.

Kim Friedman is an experienced TV director who took the helm of five episodes of the small screen spin-off, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The shows were:

Blaze of Glory in 1997, ‘Nor the Battle to the Strong‘ and The Ship in 1996 and The Search: Part 1 and The Jem’Hadar in 1994.

She also directed Star Trek: Voyager episodes Twisted, Jetrel, Cathexis and Parallax, all in 1994, an an episode of Babylon 5 – called Shadow Dancing – in 1996.

Kim directed eight episodes of Dynasty, the glamorous ‘big hair’ show from the eighties, as well as eight episodes of The Love Boat and a string of other top shows including, Knots Landing, Hotel, The Colbys, L.A. Law, Life Goes On, Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, Beverly Hills 90210 and Disney’s Lizzie McGuire.

“She doesn’t mind me posting about her, mostly because she doesn’t understand the Internet,” Kate told Yahoo Parenting.”For example, she confuses the search bar with the status update field on Facebook.

Kim, who used to lives in California, moved to the East Coast with her husband to be nearer their daughter.
