Kraft has voluntarily recalled about 242,000 cases of the “Original flavor” of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner because some boxes may contain small pieces of metal.

“We believe a piece of stainless steel got wedged in a metal piece of equipment, which may have generated friction that resulted in small pieces of metal potentially falling into the product,” Joyce Hodel, a Kraft spokeswoman, said in a statement to Reuters.

Here’s what you need to know about the recall:

1. 7.5-Ounce Boxes Are Being Pulled From the Shelves

The above chart shows the products that are being recalled. The recall includes products with the “Best When Used By” dates of Sept. 18, 2015 to Oct. 11, 2015. A total of 6.5 million boxes were recalled.

The code “C2” is located directly below the date on each individual box, according to Kraft.

No other sizes are included in the recall. Also, any boxes with a manufacturing code other than “C2” are not being recalled.

Kraft said in a statement:

Some of these products have also been packed in multi-pack units that have a range of different code dates and manufacturing codes on the external packaging (box or shrink-wrap), depending on the package configuration (see table).

2. The Recall Includes the U.S. and Some Other Countries, But Not Canada

According to Kraft, the recall does not include products sold in Canada. The recalled products were sold in the United States, Puerto Rico and some South American and Caribbean countries.

3. Customers Should Not Eat the Recalled Products

Kraft says customers shouldn’t eat the recalled products because of the danger of the pieces of metal.

The product should be returned to the store where it was purchased, the company says, where it can be exchanged or a full refund can be be made. Kraft said in a statement:

Consumers also can contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-816-9432 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. (Eastern) for a full refund.

4. No Injuries Have Been Reported

Kraft said in a statement it “has received eight consumer contacts about this product from the impacted line within this range of code dates and no injuries have been reported. We deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumers we have disappointed.”

5. Kraft Recalled Several Products Last Year

According to Reuters, Kraft had to issue several recalls last year.

In August, about 7,700 cases of American Singles were recalled after being stored improperly by a supplier. Also, 1.2 million cases of cottage cheese products were recalled in May because they were stored improperly and 260 cases of Velveeta cheese were taken off the shelves in in June because the product didn’t contain the proper preservatives.

The company made a similar recall to this most recent one in September 2011, Reuters reports, when 137,000 cases of Velveeta Shells & Cheese were recalled because of the possible presence of small, thin wire bristle pieces.
