Popular rapper Sean Price passed away at the age of 43. He was known as being part of the duo of Heltah Skeltah and a member of Boot Camp Clik.

1. He Died In His Sleep, But the Cause of Death Is Currently Unknown

Sean Price died in his sleep at the age of 43 in his Brooklyn home. His left behind his wife and three children. The cause of his death is currently not known, according to Us Magazine. His representative released the following statement, according to People:

It is with beyond a heavy heart that Duck Down Music is sadly confirming that Sean Price passed away early this morning in his Brooklyn apartment… The cause of death is currently unknown, but it was reported that he died in his sleep. Sean’s family and friends are asking for time to grieve and process the news. Further details will be issued when more information is available.


2. His Last Tweets Were Within Just Hours of His Death

Sean Price posted on Twitter under the verified handle @SeanPrice. His last tweet was posted around 2 am on Saturday when someone asked if he collaborated and he answered yes. In another Twitter exchange, someone asked what he thought about the Compton album and he answered “I don’t.”

3. He Came to Fame as Half of the Duo Heltah Skeltah

Price first became popular as half of the duo Heltah Skeltah. He was known as “Ruck.” Ruck and Rock were also part of a hip-hop group called Boot Camp Clik. They first appeared on the LP Dah Shinin’ in 1995 and then released their own album, Nocturnal, in 1996, according to Rolling Stone. For the past 20 years, Price has released music for both Heltah Skeltah and Boot Camp Clik.


4. He Rebranded Himself in His Solo Career

Price also rebranded himself for a solo career, according to Rolling Stone. His solo career, under his name Sean Price, released three albums in 2005, 2007, and 2012. In addition, he joined producer Black Milk and Guilty Simpson to release the 2011 LP Random Axe. According to People, he was supposed to release a mixtape on August 21.
