Though most believe the sky is falling in the for the Denver Broncos offense, their defense is off to another positive start and has the team at 2-0 ahead of a Sunday night matchup with the Detroit Lions.
The Broncos have allowed 4.2 yards per play, good for second spot in the NFL. The defense came up with the big touchdown that won the game against the Chiefs last week, and suffocated the Ravens the week before.
The defense has allowed Peyton Manning and Gary Kubiak to try to get on the same page as their converging styles has created an awkward fit. Can the group move to 3-0?

Defenses Dominated the 1st Quarter
Neither team was able to score in the first quarter as defenses were on top of the battle. Broncos corner Bradley Roby came up with this interception late in the period to put the Broncos in scoring range.
The Lions defense responded with this tipped interception in the red zone.

Broncos back Ronnie Hillman opened the scoring midway through the second quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run. The PAT made it 7-0.

Joique Bell found the end zone after a pass interference penalty on Calvin Johnson, but the extra point was blocked and Denver held a 7-6 lead.
Broncos Scored a Touchdown with 5 Seconds Left in 1st Half
Owen Daniels would add a late touchdown to give the Broncos the win.
On a bold move on 4th-and-1 late in the first half, Peyton Manning threw deep down the field to Demaryius Thomas, who hauled it in for the touchdown.

For as everything has worked for the Denver defense through two weeks, the Lions have swung in the completely opposite direction after a dominating 2014. Without the injured DeAndre Levy, both the pass and rush defense has fallen apart and the group has allowed 59 points in two games.
They do have home field advantage in this Sunday night matchup with the Broncos, which may pay dividends. Peyton Manning had his worst effort by far in his lone dome game in 2014, an ugly 22-7 loss to the Rams.
Levy is unlikely to play in this matchup for Detroit, which will also be missing tight end Brandon Pettigrew.
The Lions and Broncos are meeting for the first time since 2011.
