WATCH: Marco Rubio Talks About Answering Questions in Spanish

Marco Rubio discussed his own relationship with immigration, particularly his grandfather, who came to the United States after escaping Cuba in the 1960’s. The presidential candidate went on to discuss why he responds to questions in Spanish. He says he learned the American dream from his grandfather and he learned that dream in a conversation that was spoken, primarily, in Spanish.

Rubio went on to describe that his grandfather became a conservative even though he got his news in Spanish and that if there are people who still receive news that way, he wants them to hear it from him. He doesn’t want those people to hear the news through a translator.
