Bruce Arians returns to Pittsburgh this Sunday as the Cardinals fly east to take on the Steelers. The Steelers are on a short week, arriving home early Tuesday morning after a last-second win over San Diego. They are now 1-1 under backup QB Michael Vick, who has filled in while Ben Roethlisberger recovers from a knee injury. Roethlisberger wants to play against former coach Bruce Arians, but is considered a “longshot” to play.

Arians spent eight seasons as a coach in Pittsburgh, first as wide receivers coach and then four seasons as offensive coordinator. During that time, the Steelers went to three Super Bowls. The Steelers haven’t replicated that success since Arians left, much to the frustration of Roethlisberger.

Since leaving the Steelers, Arians has done just fine. And Arizona is looking like an NFC contender this year, setting the stage for Arians to remind Steelers fans what they’ve been missing. The Cardinals are averaging a league-best 38 points per game, and it’s the reason they’re a road favorite on Sunday.
