The Colts are long removed from January.

It’s hard to believe that just nine months ago these two teams were playing for a ticket to Super Bowl 49. The Colts have been scraping by this season, but find themselves on three-game win streak heading into Sunday night’s meeting with the Patriots.

New England has had dominant start to their title defense. The offense has looked unstoppable, and Tom Brady is on pace for another massive season. It should be business as usual for Belicheck and Co., as the Pats have won the last five meetings against Indy.

For the Colts, once again the midweek focus will be the health of Andrew Luck. The QB’s status is officially day-to-day, and is expected to play Sunday night. A positive sign is that the Colts released Josh Johnson, who was signed twice this season as an emergency backup QB.

Although these teams are playing on different levels right now, both are on the playoff track. A three game sweep of the division has the Colts atop the AFC South, while the Patriots are one game ahead of the Jets in the AFC East.
