AFC South rivals collide Sunday when the Texans meet the Jaguars at EverBank Field on Sunday. Houston has had a few extra days to prepare following last Thursday’s loss to the Colts, while the Jags are recovering from a blowout loss to the Buccaneers.

For the Texans, it’s another year with a revolving door QB. First it was Hoyer, then it was Mallett, and now we’re back to Hoyer. The Texans offense moved well with Hoyer last week, but a late interception ended their comeback attempt against the Colts.

This past week may have been the best game of Blake Bortles’ career. Unfortunately, it came at a price. Bortles has a sprain in his AC joint, which will make throwing uncomfortable for the next few weeks. That’s a big blow for the Jaguars, who were in full-force after the debut of Julius Thomas to the offense.

For all the hype this summer, the Texans are a bad football team. If the failures continue, don’t be surprised if someone loses their job over it. Bill O’ Brien may be on the block, but GM Rick Smith is in the most danger this offseason.
