Westboro Baptist Church to Picket Funerals of San Bernardino Shooting Victims

Never ones to hide away from America’s latest tragedy, the Westboro Baptist Church‘s members are en route to San Bernardino to picket the funerals of those lost there. The claim came from the group’s hate filled Twitter account.

On December 2, 14 people were shot and killed at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. The perpetrators of the attack, Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik, were killed later that day by police.

In a tweet sent out on December 3 from the main Westboro Twitter account, a member wrote “Glorious! God has put the ‘leaders’ of this disobedient land in utter confusion!” That message was accompanied with the hashtag “#PicketFunerals,” which means that San Bernardino will be on the group’s picket list.

Another tweet admonished someone else’s tweet that asked for people to pray for the victims of the shooting, saying “No! You don’t pray to the God you proudly disobey when He brings His wrath. Get a picket sign: STOP MARRYING F**S!”

While another bragged that God wasn’t “running out of shooters” because Americans have “enraged him.” That tweet also had the “#PicketFunerals” hashtag.

Other messages sent out by the group included blaming “the f**gs” for the shooting. While another reacted to the media’s response to the attack, saying “LOVE LOVE LOVE that God forced, by grievous smiting, this media to OWN that wicked men’s prayers are platitudes!”

In a slightly new departure for the group, members have begun blaming these tragedies and deaths on abortion as much as they blame it on the proliferation of homosexuality in American society.

The “church,” which made its name protesting the funerals of slain soldiers and victims of tragedies — somehow relating the deaths to acceptance of homosexuality in society — has proven time and again that no tragedy is safe from the group’s vile opinions.
