An 18-year-old California woman has been charged with murder after she posted a message to Facebook saying she had stabbed her ex-boyfriend to death during a fight.
Nakasia James was arrested January 19 in connection to the death of 21-year-old Dorian Powell, San Bernardino Police said.
Police said Powell was stabbed on January 11 at 2:25 a.m. in an apartment on Central Avenue. After the stabbing, James wrote a now-deleted posted after the stabbing, saying “We was really fightn (sic) and I gt (sic) the knife and stabbed him.”
James has pleaded not guilty.

In the post on her Facbeook page, Nakasia James wrote “just goin tell ya nw be4 I get caught, last night my ex was drunk off ej && wsa fightn me, hit mee in the face and we was really fightn and I gt the knife and stabbed him.”
James said Powell “socked me in my eyes” and she “just picked sumthin up.”
The post was later deleted from her page.
2. She Said She ‘Didn’t Think’ She Would Hurt Powell, But She Did & ‘He Died’

James also wrote a second post saying, “llove always love dorian brent tyrome powell,” the San Bernardino Sun reports.
In her original post, she wrote that she didn’t “think I would hurt him,” but “I did he died.”
She wrote, “god knows I didn’t mean to stabb him but I wa mad AF (as f**k). … “ssorry lord hopefully u forgive me! And sorry Dorian Powell rip.”
James added crying smiley face at the end of the post.
3. Police Say a Tip From the Public Led to Her Arrest

San Bernardino Police said on Facebook that a tip from the public led them to James after the put out information on social media and through news outlets about her.
“Nakasia is aware she is being sought in connection with this homicide,” police said.
James wrote in her Facebook post, “I’m on the run pigs lookn for me.”
4. James & Powell Began Dating About 9 Months Ago

According to James’ Facebook page, she began dating Powell about nine months ago.
On December 23, 2015 she wrote, “My Babey is my everything even tho mfs be hating on our relationship && would tag em bt he dnt do fb Nomore ? bt @dorian powell !”
She wrote in the caption of a photo of the two of them on Christmas Eve, “We been rockn for almost 8 months? now. I rather go thru the bs && argue with em then move to the nxt Ni**a .???❤?”
On December 29 she commented on another photo of them, writing “Yeaa they thought he was nothing && couldnt be a gud boyf to me but yes he did start off bad nd he got it together nd now we hve our aptmnt? we have our bs drama ?bt we always stick together?? && stack this moneey ,? and laugh at the fake ones tht hate. ! ??✌”
5. Powell’s Family Members & Friends Have Defended Him on Facebook, Saying He Didn’t Abuse Her

Powell’s family and friends have defended him on Facebook, saying they don’t believe he was abusive to James or hit her before the stabbing.
“You a stupid heartless sad ass b*tch. You took someones child, father, brother, uncle, cousin. And you know damn well your not sorry. B*tch that was premeditated murder. B*tch you knew exactly what you were doing!! B*tch it aint never that serious you a jealous ass triflin b*tch, you even tried to get somebody to fight him. B*tch you should’ve been broke up with him , but yet you continued to go back knowing it wasn’t gonna get any better.. yo ass deserve to be put to death!!
