Tonight’s Powerball drawing for $40 million will happen at 10:59 pm Eastern. Keep an eye on this page, as the winning numbers will be posted as soon as they are drawn. Some TV channels that showed the drawing live on Wednesday decided not to follow through and show the drawing again tonight.
The winning numbers for January 16 are:
3-51-52-61-64 and PowerBall 6.
If only one person wins, the “lump sum” will be worth $24.8 million, before taxes.

The chances of winning are just a little better than 1 in 300 million. And yet at least three people defied those odds on Wednesday and walked away winners. That $1.5 billion pot will be split among the jackpot winners.
