As the Republican presidential candidates finish up the South Carolina primary on Saturday, their attention immediately turns to Nevada where the GOP caucus will be held on Tuesday, February 23. It marks the quickest turnaround for the Republicans during primary season.

Early polls show Donald Trump with a large lead in Nevada. RealClear Politics has Trump with an average of a 22 percent lead over the closest competitor (Ted Cruz). As FiveThirtyEight has pointed out, polling in Nevada is not necessarily reflective of how the caucus will go.

Many state residents work late nights and are hard to access for polling. Turnout is also hard to predict and has been historically low compared to other states.

Nevada will be the last GOP stop before Super Tuesday on March 1. Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont and Virginia will host GOP primaries on Super Tuesday. Colorado will host a caucus but the delegates will not be awarded. Alaska will also host a caucus.

There are 595 delegates at stake on Super Tuesday for the Republican candidates.

Heading into South Carolina, six Republican candidates remain in the contest. The four days between South Carolina and Nevada will be a big momentum swing for the candidates that perform well in the two states.
