Hillary Clinton appears to have a comfortable lead on Bernie Sanders in Florida based on the early polling numbers. The March 15 primary has 246 delegates at stake.
According to RealClear Politics, Clinton has an average lead of 25.6 percentage points in the early polls. Clinton has done well throughout the Southeast and won the last Democratic primary in the Sunshine State in 2008.
The Democratic party uses the proportional method to award delegates. This means the delegates are divided between the candidates based on the results. The Sanders campaign hopes to narrow the gap between now and March 15 to win as many delegates as possible.
