Five people, four females and a male, were killed in a mass shooting late Wednesday night in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, Allegheny County police say.

Three others were wounded, two critically, in the shooting in the borough of about 15,000 that neighbors Pittsburgh, according to police.

At least two gunmen opened fire on a backyard party, firing more than two dozen shots at partygoers. Four of the victims were killed as they scrambled onto a porch to escape the first gunmen, entering the path of fire of the second shooter, according to investigators.

Police scrambled to the scene after receiving 911 calls reporting the shooting just before 11 p.m.
