Eleven states have filed a federal lawsuit against the Obama administration over its new directive to let transgender students use bathrooms and locker rooms that match their gender identity.

The lawsuit was filed in the Northern District of Texas. The states suing are Texas, Alabama, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Tennessee, Arizona, Maine, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Utah and Georgia.

The states are asking for a judge to declare the directive unlawful.

You can read the lawsuit, filed Wednesday, below:

The directive was issued earlier this month by the Justice and Education departments, according to the Associated Press.

It came after the Justice Department and state of North Carolina filed dueling lawsuits over a North Carolina law, known as the “Bathroom Bill” or HB2, requiring transgender people to use public bathrooms corresponding to the sex on their birth certificate, which applies to schools.

The Obama administration has said that federal funds could be withheld if the directive is not followed.
