WATCH: Daughter of San Bernardino Shooting Victim Calls for Gun Control Reform

The daughter of Damian Meins, a man who was killed in the San Bernardino shooting last year, delivered a powerful testimony on Capitol Hill today calling for stricter gun control reform.

Tina Meins described the circumstances under which her father and 13 of his coworkers were killed last December.

“In mere seconds, my life, as well as the life of my mother and sister, were irrevocably changed,” Meins said.

She remembered her father as being someone who was always happy to spend time with his kids. Meins went on to say that the shooting in Orlando took her back to what it was like to lose her father in December and to receive a call with the worst news she could possibly imagine.

She concluded by saying that shootings such as these will continue to happen as long as politicians take no action to prevent them.

“I wish I could say that I’m surprised that we’re here again, but sadly I’m not,” Meins said. “And we will continue to be here again and again if our elected officials fail to take action that prevents dangerous and hateful people from getting their hands on a deadly weapon. It’s time to disarm hate.”
