WATCH: RNC Strategist Uses ‘My Little Pony’ to Defend Melania Trump

The Republican National Committee and Donald Trump‘s campaign have been defending Trump’s wife, Melania, all morning since she has been accused of plagiarizing part of her speech on the first night of the Republican National Convention. The Trump campaign already said it will not fire anyone involved in the speech. But RNC Chief Strategist Steve Spicer came up with an odd way to defend Melania.

While on CNN, Spicer used a line from My Little Pony to defend Melania. Trump campaign staffers have been accused of lifting phrases right from Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech on the first night of the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Melania Trump said, “The strength of your dreams and willingness to follow them.” Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony said, “This is your dream, and anything you can do in your dreams, you can do now.” I mean, if we want to take a bunch of phrases and run them throguh Google and see who else has said them, I could come up with a list in five minutes.

Spicer also used My Little Pony in an MSNBC segment:

CNN also reported that the Trump campaign doesn’t plan on firing anyone and hope to move on from the controversy.

“To think that she would do something like that knowing how scrutinized her speech was going to be last night is just really absurd,” Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort told CNN. “There’s no cribbing of Michelle Obama’s speech. These were common words and values. She cares about her family. To think that she’d be cribbing Michelle Obama’s words is crazy.”
