After the first presidential debate on Monday, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani said that Hillary Clinton is too stupid to be president.

Giuliani was asked by an Elite Daily reporter if Donald Trump is a feminist. He said that yes, Trump is a feminist, and he then proceeded to discuss Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky in the 1990s, suggesting Hillary Clinton was stupid for not knowing what was going on.

“The President of the Untied States, her husband, disgraced this country with what he did in the Oval Office,” Giuliani said. “And she didn’t just stand by it. She attacked Monica Lewinsky. And after being married to Bill Clinton for 20 years, if you didn’t know the moment Monica Lewinsky said that Bill Clinton violated her that she was telling the truth, then you’re too stupid to be president.”

Giuliani brought this up while talking about the section of the debate in which Hillary Clinton attacked Donald Trump for his past comments about women. The New York City mayor said that if he were Trump, he would have brought up “what that woman standing there did to Monica Lewinsky.” Giuliani also praised Trump as being great to women because the president of his company is a woman and because his female employees are paid the same as men.

Immediately after the debate on Monday, Donald Trump told reporters that he was happy with himself for resisting going after Bill Clinton for his “indiscretions.” He also said that he did not attack the former president in part because his daughter, Chelsea Clinton, was in the room.

During the debate itself, Trump came close to attacking Bill Clinton, though, saying, “You wanna know the truth? I was going to say something extremely rough to Hillary, to her family, and I said to myself, ‘I can’t do it. I just can’t do it. It’s inappropriate. It’s not nice.’”

However, Trump hinted in an interview with CNN that he might bring up Bill Clinton’s past during the second debate on October 9th.
