In a new video purportedly released by the Islamic State titled “Men who have been true to their covenant with Allah,” ISIS militants in “Wilayat Karkuk,” Iraq carry out multiple mass executions before burying militant Bilal al-Iraqi.
Cities vulnerable to ISIS in the region include “Kirkuk, Hawija, Altun Kupri, Chamchamal, Taza Khurmatu, Mullah Abdullah, Tal Alwad, Baba Kurkur, Manzalah, Rashad, Daquq, [and] Bashir Village.”
The video was released on ISIS terrorist channels on October 9.
The title comes from Quranic verse 33:23, which reads:
Of the believers are men who are true to that which they covenanted with Allah. Some of them have paid their vow by death (in battle), and some of them still are waiting; and they have not altered in the least;
The Kirkuk region has been occupied by Iraqi Kurdistan since 2014. The armed division of the Kurds in Iraq, known as “Peshmerga,” have been trained by the US in the fight against the Islamic State.
In the video, ISIS militants are shown leading blindfolded men to their execution. A drive-by shooting is also shown.
