The details about this year’s Victoria’ Secret Fashion Show, which features their Angels dressed in lingerie, have yet to be released. Reports of terrorist threats against the events are rumored. According to TMZ:
Officials for the show announced Monday the event will be held next month in Paris. Typically the announcement is made in the Spring, but we’re told the honchos decided months ago they wanted Paris as the venue, but feared if word got out it would give terrorists time to plan an attack.
The show will be filmed next month in the Parisian capital, but it won’t air on television until Monday, December 5, at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
It would be the first time the show was held in France, and the event will be held close to the first anniversary of the 2015 Islamic State Paris attacks. Last year, on November 13, a series of coordinated attacks were carried out by terrorists in Paris and the city’s northern suburb, Saint-Denis.
Suicide bombers and gunmen attacked and killed 130 people and injured 368 more.
The attack was the deadliest day in France since World War II.
Following the attack, the Islamic State released an official statement claiming it. Since then, ISIS has also promised more international attacks.
Currently, ISIS is battling for its life to retain its Iraqi “capital” of Mosul against the American coalition. Last week, the American coalition, consisting of the Iraqi Army, the Kurdish Peshmerga, Shia militias, Christian militias, and the Turkish Nineveh Guard, descended upon Mosul to free it from the Islamic State. The official operation began on October 17 when it was announced by Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
