Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will hold a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina this afternoon, the candidate’s first of two events in the state today.
Trump will speak from the White Oak Amphitheater beginning at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. It can be viewed in the embedded YouTube player via Right Side Broadcasting.
The Republican nominee for president has been in attack mode over the past few days, starting on Wednesday when The New York Times released a story about two women accusing Donald Trump of sexual assault. Since then, several other women have come forward alleging that Trump assaulted them as well, including a former Miss USA contestant and a People Magazine writer.
Since these stories emerged, Trump has both been going after the individual media outlets – threatening to sue The New York Times and People Magazine – and after the women themselves. During a rally on Thursday, Trump called his accusers “horrible, horrible liars.” He said that these accusations are all part of a conspiracy to undermine his candidacy and get Hillary Clinton elected president.
“There is nothing the political establishment will not do, no lie they won’t tell to hold their prestige and power at your expense and that’s what’s happening,” Trump said.
During an interview on MSNBC this morning, vice presidential candidate Mike Pence said that before today is over, there will be evidence that contradicts the claims made by these women. And on CNN recently, Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. said that Trump has relevant emails that he plans to present.
“He told me about emails he had from these accusers who wanted to work for him after the supposed event had occurred,” he said. “And he told me about other email evidence that supports the fact that it didn’t happen.”
North Carolina is one of the three key states in the 2016 election, alongside Florida and Ohio. Hillary Clinton is currently ahead in all three of her states, maintaining a 3.0 point lead in North Carolina, according to Real Clear Politics’ polling average.
