Giuliani just joked about #Trump‘s vile comments towards women: “I cannot say the word…I might say it back in the locker room.”
During a campaign rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on Monday, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani made light of the leaked tape on which Donald Trump brags about being able to get away with sexual assault.
During his introduction of Trump, Giuliani began speaking about Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. He nearly let out a curse word, only to avoid doing so and then make a joke about “locker room talk.”
“Boy that is as phony as…I can’t say the word because I have to be nice,” Giuliani said. “I might say it back in the locker room.”
The entire audience in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania laughed at this remark. Giuliani’s comment is a reference to Donald Trump’s explanation that his leaked tape was simply “guy talk” that goes on all the time in locker rooms.
“This was locker room talk,” Trump said at the second presidential debate on Monday. “I’m not proud of it. I apologize to my family. I apologize to the American people. But this is locker room talk.”
Giuliani went on to sarcastically mock those who are too sensitive, running with the campaign’s recent argument that those who were offended by Trump’s 2005 remarks simply couldn’t handle bad language. The negative reaction to the tape was not due to the curse words, but due to the fact that Trump was saying that he can grab a woman’s private parts because he is a celebrity.
