NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen and his wife, Larsa Pippen, were heading towards divorcing, but reports on February 8 claim they are working things out. The couple have been married since 1997 and have four children together.
Larsa, a former Real Housewives star and a friend of Kim Kardashian’s, was Pippen’s second wife.
Rumors of the split revealed that rapper Futue might have been involved. There are reports from TMZ and Us Weekly that Larsa and Future had some kind of relationship which left Pippen “devastated,” one source told Us Weekly. The two reportedly met at a Miami party in the summer and she has been flying with Future on his private jet.
TMZ reported on February 8 that the couple have decided to work thins out and are in no rush to finalize the divorce.
Here’s a look at Larsa and their relationship.
1. Larsa’s Relationship With Rapper Future Was Reportedly the Reason Why Pippen Filed for Divorce
TMZ reports that Pippen was the one who filed for divorce. He filed papers in Florida last week, according to court documents TMZ obtained.
It’s not clear what the reasons for the split were. They appeared together on September 8 at New York Fashion Week to support their 7-year-old daughter Sophia’s modelling career. They were both seen with their wedding rings.
TMZ later reported that Pippen wants to sent Larsa child support, but that dollar amount hasn’t been determined. Here is Larsa’s rep’s full statement to TMZ:
“After careful consideration and 19 years together, Larsa and Scottie have each filed for dissolution of their marriage. Although they are no longer to be married, Larsa remains hopeful that she and Scottie will always do what is best for their 4 beautiful children and jointly raise them with love and respect. She would like to thank everyone for their understanding and kindly ask for privacy from the media during this difficult time of transition for her family.”
On October 22, TMZ reported that police officers were called to the Pippen house in Fort Lauderdale twice in the past three weeks. The first incident was on October 4, when Larsa told police that the couple got into a “heated verbal argument.” The second incident happened on October 4. Details on that incident were not revealed. However, both incidents ended without an arrest.
TMZ later obtained a police report from the October 4 incident, which happened in the middle of the day. Police said they saw Larsa outside their Florida home when they arrived and they told her that they are having “marital problems” and that he yells at her. Police said that Pippen was in the home and told them that he “was upset” and broke his cell phone in frustration.
TMZ is also reporting that Larsa had a “cozy” relationship with rapper Future. They met at a Miami party in August and they were seen together at a nightclub there. They even went to Las Vegas together on Future’s private jet in September. However, TMZ’s sources say that this was revenge for Pippen “openly flirting with an actress” last summer.
Sources for Us Weekly backed the TMZ report that Larsa had some kind of relationship with the 32-year-old Future. Another source close to Larsa denied that she was cheating on Pippen with Future, saying they “are friends.”
On February 8, TMZ reported that the couple have started working things out and have stayed in touch since Pippen filed for divorce. They started getting friendlier as they worked out business related to the care of their children.
