WATCH: Donald Trump Tells Racists to ‘Stop it’ on 60 Minutes

One of the most memorable moments in Donald Trump’s sit-down interview with 60 Minutes‘ Lesley Stahl, came when Stahl asked Trump about the troubling series of hate crimes that have been reported in the United States since the election.

When Trump was told that people were harassing Latinos and Muslims, the president-elect said, “I am so saddened to hear that. And I say, ‘Stop it.’ If it– if it helps. I will say this, and I will say right to the cameras: Stop it.” He faced the camera as he made the remark.

Since Trump’s election, people in many states have reported attacks and harassment; Muslim women say their Hijabs were yanked; African-Americans say they were called racial slurs; racist and Nazi graffiti has been found; and schools have dealt with a number of issues. At least one of the accounts was falsified, police said. On the other side, a series of Trump supporters have reported being physically attacked since the election for expressing support for Trump.

Stahl asked Trump if he had heard about reports of racial slurs and threats being made by his supporters, and he expressed surprise, saying, “I am very surprised to hear that– I hate to hear that, I mean I hate to hear that–”

He pledged to work for all Americans.

The wide-ranging issue also covered policy questions like illegal immigration, Obamacare, and ISIS. You can read a full transcript of the Trump interview here.
