Islamic State terrorist channels have been abuzz with the news of President-Elect Donald Trump. Jihadists are hoping that the divisive Commander-in-Chief will cause a civil war in America. International terrorism watchdog group Site Intel reports:
The pro-Islamic State (IS) Nashir Political Service and jihadists opined on Donald Trump’s American presidential victory, hoping that it will lead to civil war and the eventual bankruptcy of the U.S. economy due to anti-Islamic and jingoist policies.
ISIS has advocated for a civil war in the US in the past. During the July mass shooting of police in Dallas, Islamic State terrorist channels cheered for a race war. ISIS also invited African-Americans to Islam after 2 Baton Rouge Police Department officers were murdered also by an anti-police shooter.
While the Islamic State has yet to officially respond to a Trump presidency, ISIS al-Hayat Media Center purportedly released an article about November 8 on November 5 called “The Murtadd Vote.”
The article served as a warning to Muslims participating in democracy, which ISIS repeatedly refers to as “paganism” in the article. The article also repeatedly refers to American “murtad” imams, or Islamic clerics. A murtad is a person who is born into Islam, or had previously accepted it, but then renounces it to become an apostate.
