Danielle Stislicki: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

A 28-year-old Farmington Hills, Michigan woman who has been missing since December 2 was described as a “people person” who’s “responsible and conscientious.”

After Danielle Stislicki vanished, her loved ones organized a major social media effort to find her. Police suspect that Stislicki met with foul play, and they searched the home of a local security guard, although he has not been arrested.

Although police initially approached Stislicki’s disappearance as a missing persons case, they now say: “All available information and evidence leads investigators to believe Danielle Stislicki was the victim of a crime.”

Stislicki’s loved ones are hoping someone reading this can provide any information that will help them learn what happened to Danielle, a young woman whose family says would never have disappeared without a trace on her own.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Stislicki’s Car Was Found Outside Her Apartment Building After She Left Work

According to the Detroit Free Press, Stislicki, a 28-year-old Farmington Hills resident, “was last seen around 5 p.m. Dec. 2, leaving the MetLife Office building on Telegraph, north of 10 Mile, in Southfield. Her car, a 2015 Jeep Renegade, was found in front of her apartment building in the Independence Green Apartment Complex on Lincoln Court around 6 p.m. Dec. 3.”

Stislicki worked for MetLife, as does her mother. She was heading home to her apartment before meeting a friend for dinner, but she was never seen again, and her cell phone went directly to voicemail, The Huffington Post reported. The Detroit News reported that Danielle had asked to leave work early to meet the female friend.

When the woman went to check on Danielle, she found her Jeep outside the apartment building, locked.

A GoFundMe site on her disappearance reads, “She was last seen in Southfield, Michigan at work. Her car was left at her home in the area of Halsted and Grand River in Farmington Hills, even though she was last seen in Southfield.”

3. A Security Guard’s Home Was Searched After Stislicki Disappeared

Police have searched the home where a local security guard lives with his wife several times in connection with the disappearance of Stislicki.

The man, who has also worked for MetLife, has hired an attorney who told WXYZ.com that he has nothing to say to police.

WXYZ reported that the guard’s wife had been in the hospital, and police took a mattress to test for evidence. The guard lives in a Detroit suburb. However, he has not been arrested, and police have said very little about why they conducted the searches.

The police said in a statement, “Farmington Hills detectives and members of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab were at a home in Berkley last night investigating the disappearance of Danielle Stislicki. Farmington Hills detectives and investigators from several other agencies have been involved in searches and the collection of evidence at numerous locations over the past three weeks …. There will be no further information released at this time.”

4. Disappearing Would Be out of Character for Stislicki, Family Members Say

Stislicki’s mother told MLive that Danielle would have never ditched her friend with no explanation, and her father said she was a responsible and conscientious person.

At a news conference, the mother, Ann Stislicki, said: “I plead as a mother, from the deepest of my heart. Help us bring Danielle home. There is a huge community out here that Danielle belongs to and we need to go ahead and bring her home.”

Her mother believes Danielle would never have disappeared on her own. The Oakland Press reported it was out of character for Stislicki to not contact her family for so long.

5. Police Advised the Public to Look for a Smiley Face Key Charm

Police found Danielle’s credits cards and pursue, however, they have asked the public to look out for certain items: “a missing ‘smiley-face’ key chain charm and Stislicki’s missing Samsung Galaxy Prime Core cellphon,” reported MLive.

The site said she “was wearing blue jeans, a black zip-up shirt, a teal Eddie Bauer coat with the inner lining removed and burgundy boots. She is 5-foot-5, 123 pounds. Her medium-length hair is wavy and brown.”

“Everything was there: her cat, her ID, cash, credit cards,” Danielle’s mother told Dateline. “We don’t think she even made it inside her apartment after work.” There were no signs of a struggle, NBC News reported.
